The 38 dodge is here from the states .So we can start to work on it.We start by removing the axles and then the chassis. We cut out the cab/bonnet. This is to help the bigger motor fit . I had a friend make some new chassis rail up
Jerry had loads of ideas to for the 38 .We thought the best thing to do is start again. So off we went. We removed the doors/ bonnet/ glass and rear doors, as well as dials steering .All bolts surprised us,They all undid .We made a little trolley to move the body on in the workshop for ease. We wanted too remove the front chassis rails too help us get the jag axle too fit better too the platform . This job is the big one for a couple of friends to do. We both have a interest in seeing the 38 in a new way Most of the bits are now found. Not bad at the beginning of a project!.I asked a friend too bend two chassis rails the same dimensions as the old ones but with out the axle arches in. Once this is done we can get the ride height correct and get the jag axle fitted. The jag axle is off a xjs .We removed all mounts off the axle so we can fit it a new way.
Now the chassis rails are done we can check to see if the panels will fit. And also the wings. There will obviously be many subtle modifications not seen at first glance and many other parts sourced from numerous parts vehicles and our own parts collection.
Also with a project like this sometimes ideas and decisions change along the way so you sidestep or take something off and start again until it fits, works or looks right in the creators eyes.
We'll keep ya posted so check back here often.
